Starling in the Shadows

Starling in the Shadows

Taken about 3 years ago outside of Hamamatsucho station in Tokyo, Japan.  I was able to get really close to this guy!

Henry, these cute little birds took over my backyard a few years ago and the more I read about starlings, the less I liked them. They're annoying, loud, and their droppings are known to cause disease in the feed of livestock. But, I do agree they're fun to photograph! I like their spotted appearance, and a young starling is fuzzy-wuzzy, like a ball of fur.

I know what you mean about loud! But what we have a lot of here are "Brown Eared Bulbulls". Very loud and irritating. The diseases are very misfortunate though. I guess the same with many birds species. Anyway, thanks for the comment! :) Hope you enjoy this site...
